VISION ON VANITIES (trendshoot)
Research, production & photography. Commissioned by Martijn Nekoui for Generation’15, a pop-up exposition by MOAM Collective (2015)
An ancient philosophy revives in contemporary design, undergoing a transformation in both notion and appearance. From shallow to sensitive, self-idolatry is reinterpreted as a way of taking care of oneself to the fullest. The focus lies on the surface but is far from superficial. Cleanliness and soberness reveal our beauty from the inside as well as the outside. Reflective materials and tactile textures have a soothing effect on body and mind while fostering rituals increase the self-awareness. Scents are embodied with personality and spirituality, to be worn close to the skin.
Featuring Morphologies by Sarah-Linda Forrer and the Perfume Tools by Jody Kocken.
