I adore this new work from Debbie Wijskamp. Black Ruby is a series of pots and bowls made from recycled rubberpowder. She developed a new way of working with this material, and created small ‘pebbles’ as ‘buildingblocks’ for this collection. I used this unique series for the exposition ‘Winters Tafelen’ which I made with Studio Aandacht.

I love this project : True Colours : from Lex Pott made of the materials copper, aluminium, brass and steel.
Lex Pott: “When an element like copper is found in nature it has a green colour. Iron has an orange / brown colour when being found inside the earth. Oxidized metal surfaces create colours that provide information about a material. The pallete is a reaction with the base material. Therefore the coloured surfaces have an organic growth of colour and not every colour is possible on every surface. Colouring metals requires accurate recipes. This project shows the results of a research on metals and their true colours; a direct relationship between colour, material and information.” Edition of 20 sets.

The home office -where living and working collide -is an increasingly common reality where the boundary between the two worlds is unclear. The table represents the centre of the home and simultaneously the centre of the workplace. It is here that the border between one’s professional and private life is most blurred. TABLE-TABLE is a home office furniture which, by utilizing the unique properties of Electronically Switchable Smart Glass, allows the user to effortlessly make the crossover between work and living.

Fascinating, forceful, clear and minimal architecture. These architects created wonderfull concepts. In the middle you can see The Truffle by Ensamble Studio.
The truffle is a piece of nature built with earth, full of air. A space within a stone that sits on the ground and blends in with the territory. It camouflages, by emulating the processes of mineral formation in its structure and integrates with the natural environment, complying with its laws.
They made a hole in the ground, piling up on its perimeter, the topsoil removed and obtained a retaining dike without mechanical consistency. Then, they materialized the air building a volume with hay bales and flooded the space between the earth and the built air to solidify it. The poured mass concrete wrapped the air and protected itself with the ground. time passed and we removed the earth, discovering an amorphous mass.

This took my breath away. The installation is a collaboration between Transsolar climate enginners and Tetsuo Kondo Architects. It was shown at the Venice Biennale. Cloudscape creates a cloud in the interior of the Arsenale. Visitors can walk below, through, and above the cloud on a walkway that could easily be mistaken for a section.

This project I made with Floor Kuitert and Kelly Nederlof. Pour me. We made 4 conserving submissions and 2 conserving necklaces. Inside the necklace is a baby tooth, a memory, a precious treasure. We wanted to carry those memory’s close, we wanted to keep them, to conserve them.
