I made this month with the team of Studio Aandacht the exhibition Winters Tafelen in the museum of ceramics in Leeuwarden. 6 Tables with each its own theme and concept were dressed up. Take a look, it is definitely worth it!

The home office -where living and working collide -is an increasingly common reality where the boundary between the two worlds is unclear. The table represents the centre of the home and simultaneously the centre of the workplace. It is here that the border between one’s professional and private life is most blurred. TABLE-TABLE is a home office furniture which, by utilizing the unique properties of Electronically Switchable Smart Glass, allows the user to effortlessly make the crossover between work and living.

During my intership at Studio Aandacht I worked on this production for Volkskrant Woonspecial (a livingspecial attached to the newspaper). It was called Touch Me, and we made 4 spreads. On the first image you see the cover of the magazine. The second image is one of the moodboards I made for preparation. On the last image you see one of the end result. For the whole production you can check my website.

My top 3 this month:
#1 APARTAMENTO MAGAZINE
#2 RUM MAGAZINE
#3 GLAMCULT
Apartamento is so real and shows the most original homes, living spaces and design solutions. I made an ode to Apartamento Magazine by a photoshoot. Rum Magazine is a danish interior and architecture magazine with the an incredible sense of taste. Glamcult showes the love for design, fashion, graphic design and photography.

I am preparing to shoot a filmstill, inspired by the film A Single Man. Below you can see 2 locations of my photoshoot. The first is at a big department store in the Netherlands, called ‘de Bijenkorf‘. And the second is at cruiseship ‘de Rotterdam‘.

This is the result of ‘Furniturised’, were the model model takes over the character of the furniture. Colour, shapes, structure, materials. In total I have made 8 portraits.
Studio Toogood designs, directs and executes interiors and environments from concept through to creation. Offering a full creative direction and interior design service, the Studio’s projects range from the two-dimensional page to the three-dimensional space, and from the real to the conceptual. Wow! I really want my internship here.

Darkness – Light – Darkness; Poetic, historic, pure. This is al found at the Elle Decoration Suite, designed in 2009 by Maison Martin Margiela. Martin Margiela have once again gone to great lengths to create a unique experience for a post party venue with the re-design of the Elle Deco Suite, once the apartment of Palais Chaillot architect Jacques Carlu. With the Eiffel Tower a short distance away, this project was initiated by the Cite de L’Architecture & du Patrimoine in the prime location. Not afraid to go big, Martin Margiela have combined white, silver and trompe l’oiel to create this overwhelming experience.

This took my breath away. The installation is a collaboration between Transsolar climate enginners and Tetsuo Kondo Architects. It was shown at the Venice Biennale. Cloudscape creates a cloud in the interior of the Arsenale. Visitors can walk below, through, and above the cloud on a walkway that could easily be mistaken for a section.

This is what we are gonna see in a few. Romans, sticky romans. Soft pastels -like coral, red, ochre yellow, blur blue- and light plays an important part. These set-designs inspire me tremendously.
This is where I am working on right now, a photo serie of 8 portraits. Het model takes over the character of the furniture. The model takes over the colour, shapes, structure, materials from the furniture. I am very busy with the other 7 portraits, i’ll show it soon!
